Núria Bonada

Núria Bonada got her PhD in 2003 at the University of Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain) and spent several years as postdoctoral researcher at the University of Claude Bernard Lyon1 (France) and at the University of Granada (Spain). She is currently a Serra Húnter Associate Professor at the University of Barcelona and the lead of the FEHM-Lab (Freshwater Ecology, Hydrology and Management). Her research interests mainly focus on the biodiversity, ecology, management and conservation of freshwater ecosystems. In particular, she has been working on spatio-temporal patterns of aquatic macroinvertebrates in Mediterranean climate rivers and their responses to past, present, and future disturbances, combining community and population approaches. She has conducted her research on different Mediterranean climate regions of the world, where intermittent rivers are part of the daily landscape and have triggered many evolutionary adaptations of species. Her research has resulted in 110+ publications including scientific papers, books and book chapters.
