Mark Bachmann
With over two decades of experience in threatened species ecology, historical geography and eco-hydrology, Mark Bachmann has led Nature Glenelg Trust, a charitable environmental NGO, since it began operating in January 2012. In recognition of his personal and professional dedication to nature conservation, Mark was named the 2016 recipient of the Jill Hudson Award for Environmental Protection.
Among a wide range of other achievements, NGT has now restored over 60 wetlands on public and private land across south-eastern Australia, including saltmarsh restoration projects in Tasmania.
